Dear Friends of Conservation,
The South Carolina and Georgia Chapters of the Soil and Water Conservation Society are planning a summer conference at Hickory Knob State Park, June 27 – 29, 2002. The topic of this conference is “The Savannah River Basin”. We have scheduled many interesting topics and speakers for this important technical session on the Savannah River Basin. We have confirmed many knowledgeable speakers, including Senator Bob Waldrop of Anderson.
The conference begins on Thursday, June 27, 2002, with opening ceremonies beginning at 1:00 PM. Registration will begin at 11:00 AM. The primary topic for Thursday’s technical session is “It’s a Matter of Quantity”. We will have six (6) individuals speaking on different specifics with the primary topic as the guideline. Thursday night we will have Bar-B-Que with all the fixings and entertainment for your enjoyment.
Friday’s primary topic will be “What’s in My Water? – Water Quality Issues”. This session will begin at 9:00 AM and feature many interesting speakers. We will have a box lunch at noon and golfers will hit the tees at 1:30 PM. Bring you fishing gear if you want to fish. Friday night we will have an awards banquet featuring our famous “Beauford Stew”, aka, Low County Boil.
Please plan to bring your family and attend our conference. Lodging accommodations may be made by calling 1-800-491-1764 or 803-391-2450. We hope to have a great conference!
